Sure TRON is a visual masterpiece, it's the classic story of boy meets computer computer tries to kill boy. The thing I thought stood apart was the fact that not only were a pair of DJ's commissioned to do the title track but they were also hired by Disney to do the score. Its definitely more trip hop club sounding that Danny Elfmans work but then again I still play Daft Punks "Homework" album on the reg. I thought they did a great job on it so here is the title cut off their Legacy album.
Desktopography puts out an annual exhibition of some of the best graphic artists world wide and this years pieces are some of the best to date. Check out the site here and down load some new wall papers for your PC or Mac.
This is one of the most amazing sites I have ever seen. Simply follow this link and play the video, at first glance looks to be a drum and base hip hop video. As the video starts moving you may notice the mouse over the screen looks a bit different than you might be used to. This is because the video was filmed using a 360 degree camera and allows the user to navigate through the music video giving the user a new experience each time they watch it...and they say flash is dead.
Abduzeedo has put out there yearly round up of the top new illustrators on deviantart. Although its not as strong of a group as in years past it is definitely worth going through to see these up and coming artists flex their skill.
In a world of CG realism its nice to see people take chances with their approach to texture. This short has a great feel, like looking into an actual painting but its not distracting from the story. Well done Team Cerf.

Mike Hanery (no not the guy that does the voice of Cleveland from Family Guy) has taken the art of caricature to new heights. His ability to over emphasize characteristics in order to bring a new dimensions personality to his pieces is top notch. Plus he hangs with one of my favorite comic artists Joe Madd, check out his feature over on abduzeedo.
New Mike giant Project, stay tuned.
Just saw this with the sound off (I know I should be paying more attention but after 7 hours of a seminar my atention span is that of a cricket). My pops loves the P-51 he actualy built a model of one for my birthday this year.
These days everyone is getting down with the beat boxing I mean Biz Markie is on that children's show Yo Gabba Gabba. Seems even Google is getting in on the action. If you haven't heard about this already, you can go to Google Translate and create your own fresh beats to rap over. Here is some fresh beat boxing to get you started.
1) Go to Google Translate
2) Set the translator to translate German to German
3) Copy + paste the following into the translate box: pv zk pv pv zk pv zk kz zk pv pv pv zk pv zk zk pzk pzk pvzkpkzvpvzk kkkkkk bsch
4) Click "listen"
Here is a key so you can create your own.
zk = suspended cymbal, bschk = snare, pv = brush, bk = bass, tk = flam1, vk = roll tap, kt = flam2, kttp = flam tap, krp = hi hat tap, pv = short roll, th = better hi hat, thp, ds = instant rimshot.

Parker Brothers (choppers not toys) have too much tome on their hands. Why would I say that you ask? Well they decided to make an actual working TRON light cycle. Check out the maiden voyage.
World AIDS Day is upon us and this year the celebrity community is chiming. Noted Twitter enthusiast and pop star Lady Gaga has joined up with other high profile types in closing their twitter accounts until 1 million dollars in research money is donated (an amount she probably could have written a check for but what ever). The ads are pretty cool but the campaign seems a bit self indulgent, rather on focus on the issues the stars are asking people to focus on them.
One of my closest friends has been HIV positive for several years so this time of year is important to me. It is nice to see Hollywood helping, even Stephen Colbert Got on board with the "It Gets Better Project".
With out a bit of back ground info this video seems pretty run of the mill for a Pixar short. The amazing thing about it is this was put together by one man with one computer in Montevideo, it was up for 14 hours before he was contacted and offered a job by Spielberg. See kids hard work does pay off.
Although the Chiefs are still in first Phillip rivers has created a spark for the Chargers with his record setting season (he's on pace to break Dan Marino's single season passing yards). Want another reason why the rest of the AFC West should worry about the San Diego Chargers, who have won three straight games and appear to be embarking on another late-season playoff run? Vincent Jackson the pro-bowl receiver is joining the team next week and we all know what he brings to the table.
I just got a chance to sit down and play with the Microsoft surface and I'm impressed. I know what you're going to say but I'm more of a mac guy, it's just my preference. My experience with Microsoft has been bad to say the least; from my first lap top to my Xbox that lasted all of a month before burning out their products have been crap for about a decade. That being said the surface is awesome, picture a 60 inc tv that reacts to movement change in temperature and gestures as well as pulling info from windows enabled devices wirelessly. The interface is super intuitive but the price is a little daunting. Check out the spoof that sarcastic gamer put out.
This week end my friends Sun and Brad took my wife and I to see Viva La Revolucion. The show was great; Fail, Banksy, Sheppard all the big guns in the graff game were represented.
Sheppard Ferry had some small pieces, but then again small for him is a 6 foot tall canvas.
Love this trike, all old school complete with an 8track player.
This piece was interesting. It was called "trash talk" and essentially was a garbage can rigged with pullies and kicks to create music using discarded cups and tin cans.
This wall was a portrait done on a brick wall covered in cement and plaster. Each level of the stencil was represented with one of the lavers being removed to expose the texture below.
Of cores they would not let me take flix of the Banksy vs Fail room but trust me its worth the 10 bucks to see it up close. If you do go to the show be sure to play the video game that Fail put together.

From the Masons to the towers I enjoy (not believe in but enjoy) a good conspiracy theory. I also enjoy a good unsolved mystery, Big Foot, Nessie, UFO's I love it. Earlier today I was sent a link to this youtube video, the scene is from a Charlie Chaplin movie filmed in 1928. In this scene there seems to be a man walking through the scene on a cell phone. The general consciences is the device is a hearing aid but some believe this to be video evidence of time travel. …weird.
The Future of Web Design Con is back and this year its in the NYC yall. If you're in the Big Apple next week make it a point to get there.
Just thought I'd give you all something to drool over today. Bugatti Just Came Out with Their Veyron Super Sport, which has now again surpassed the SCC Ultimate Aero to be the Fastest Production Car in the World.
Banksy (if you dont know who Banksy is, stop reading this and look him up) recently lent his talents to the one and only Matt Groening for the intro of "The Simpsons". Here it is just in case you missed it.
The holidays are coming up and I thought I would let you guys in on how I save money on gifts. First I start buying early so I'm not SOL when the holidays finally get here and second I shop on line because the mall is way over priced and way too much for me to deal with.
Here are a few choice sites I frequent: The first site is for forward people my age, its mostly casual boutique street ware but they do throw in the occasional watches or head phones PLNDR. This Site only has one item a day but the deal is always marked way down and goes fast whiskeymilitia. The last site is the crown jewel of the on line deal sites, all high end designer stuff and they have every thing from furniture to deck shoes, check out these wine travelers I picked up gilt.
I thought this was a great example of what you can do with motion graphics live when you think outside the canvas.
